This determines whether a FEMTO unlock or re-unlock is needed before tuning.
Was your DME already configured for Bootmod3 or MHD?
If BM3 or MHD was already installed in the root DME before Jan 2026, a FEMTO re-unlock should not be required.
Select your DME status to continue.
Step 2
Choose your install platform
Select the ecosystem you will use to flash and run the CarBahn calibration.
What do you need for this platform?
Leave selected if you need it. Remove anything you already own.
DongleRequired hardware adapter

Flex Fuel Tuning Acknowledgement
Vehicle tuning and motorsport use involve inherent mechanical risk.
Ethanol-based fuels may accelerate wear on fuel system and drivetrain components over time.
CarBahn does not provide warranty coverage in combination with this Flex Fuel tuning system.
Existing CarBahn Factory Matching Warranty and Protection Plan coverage does not apply when used with this Flex Fuel tuning system.
Supporting hardware, proper fuel quality, and responsible operation are critical for safe use.

Why Flex Fuel?
Adaptive Power Without Constant Retuning
CarBahn Flex Fuel tuning continuously adapts ignition, fueling, and boost targets based on ethanol content in real time. Whether running premium pump fuel or blending up to E40, the calibration dynamically adjusts to optimize performance while maintaining drivability and refinement.
More PowerEthanol allows significantly higher knock resistance and more aggressive calibration targets.
Dynamic AdaptationNo reflashing required when changing between pump gas and ethanol blends.
OEM-Like IntegrationCold start behavior, drivability, and refinement remain a core focus of development.
E0–E40 AdaptationReal-Time Ethanol Compensation
Automatically adjusts fueling and calibration strategy based on ethanol content.

FAQ
Warranty, Reliability & Common Questions
Is this tune covered by the CarBahn Factory Matching Warranty or Protection Plan?
No. Due to the high amount of customization and power, flex fuel tunes are not covered by the CarBahn Factory Matching Warranty or protection plan. If you upgrade to the flex fuel kit, you assume all risk. This is serious power.
What ethanol blends are supported?
CarBahn Flex Fuel calibrations dynamically adapt between standard premium fuel and ethanol blends up to approximately E40 depending on hardware configuration.
Can I daily drive this setup?
Yes. Maintaining OEM-like drivability, cold start behavior, and refinement are major priorities during calibration development.
Do I need supporting hardware?
Heat exchangers, filters, clutches, and transmission software may be recommended depending on power goals and intended usage.
Technical Reference
Responsible Power Starts With the Right Setup
Flex Fuel tuning can deliver substantial power gains, but reliability depends on choosing the correct map,
monitoring ethanol content, staying within recommended torque limits, and using the supporting hardware
required for your power level.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
Forgetting to switch maps when fuel octane or ethanol blend changes.
Running ethanol content above the recommended E40 limit.
Not verifying ethanol content before selecting a higher-output map.
Running too much boost or torque on stock internals.
Skipping recommended cooling, transmission, or supporting hardware.
Ethanol Blend Guidance
For long-term durability, CarBahn does not recommend sustained use above 40% ethanol content on OEM fuel
systems. For very high-power use, a blend of approximately 60% 100-octane race gas and 40% E85 is preferred
over full E85.
Engine Protection
Torque is what damages engine and drivetrain components.
Once power targets increase, the engine, transmission, transfer case, cooling system, and fuel system all
become part of the reliability equation.
