Match the engine, not just the badge. Models above are an engine-family guide. Confirm your exact engine, generation and block configuration in the builder. For replacement engines or uncertain fitment, contact CarBahn before ordering.
02 / TWO WAYS TO START
Start with the internal foundation or expand to the engine-specific complete parts kit. Then add supporting hardware and services to suit your build.
THE INTERNAL FOUNDATION
The core internal components for your selected engine configuration. A starting point when your build focuses on the bottom end.
THE EXPANDED PARTS PACKAGE
The selected internal foundation, expanded with cylinder-head components and supporting performance parts specified for that engine.
Machining and assembly labor are separate selections. Your existing block, cylinder head and other retained components need to be evaluated for the intended build. Choose professional services in the platform builder when needed.
03 / UNDERSTAND THE HARDWARE
What’s inside matters. Here’s how the main components contribute to an engine build—and why the exact combination changes by platform.
Pistons transfer combustion force into the rotating assembly. Forged piston specifications—including pin placement and compression—vary with the selected kit and intended application.
Connecting rods link the pistons to the crankshaft. Depending on the kit, the build uses forged rods or upgraded rod bolts with retained rods.
Rod and main bearings support the rotating components at their journals. Correct clearances, surface condition and lubrication are essential parts of assembly.
Head gaskets seal the cylinder-head-to-block interface. Head studs and other upgraded fasteners are included where specified for the engine and configuration.
Valve springs help the valves follow the camshaft’s motion. Complete parts kits include the performance springs specified for that engine build.
A longer-stroke crankshaft changes piston travel. Selected stroker kits pair a billet crankshaft with the corresponding piston and rod configuration.
AVAILABLE ON SELECT CONFIGURATIONS
Camshafts control valve opening and closing events. Optional camshaft kits are shown only where offered in each platform builder. Discuss the choice with your engine builder alongside the intended use, valvetrain and calibration.
04 / BUILD BEYOND THE BOX
Select the parts you need and the individual services your engine requires. Each platform builder keeps these choices and their prices visible.
Inspection determines what can be reused, what needs refreshing and which machining operations are appropriate.
Availability and pricing vary by engine and configuration.
Engine-specific gaskets, seals, fasteners and supporting hardware for bottom-end or complete-engine assembly. Separate from assembly labor.
Additional refresh components for higher-mileage engines or builds following a failure. Contents vary by platform and can include timing, cooling, oil-system and valvetrain parts. An inspection determines the full repair scope.
Boring changes cylinder diameter where required; honing establishes the specified bore size and surface finish. The operation must suit the piston specification and cylinder-bore material. Available operations vary by engine.
Separate machining operations on the block and cylinder head sealing surfaces, selected as needed after evaluating their condition and the build specification.
Valve-seat work and decarbonizing support cylinder-head preparation. Guide replacement and sizing are selected where needed; performance spring installation is included with the applicable valve-job service.
Choose lower-end assembly for a rotating-assembly build or complete-engine assembly for a complete parts kit. These are labor selections; machining and supporting parts remain individually selectable.

05 / BEFORE YOU BUILD
Get clear on the kit, the engine and the work before choosing your configuration.
A complete parts kit supplies the components listed for that configuration. Machining and complete-engine assembly are separate options in the builder. Contact CarBahn if you’re looking for a complete engine program.
Start with the platform guide above, then verify the engine designation and generation. For uncertain fitment, provide CarBahn with your VIN, build date and any engine replacement or modification history. A model badge alone does not identify every engine variation.
On platforms where these options are offered, S-series and R-series kits have street- and race-focused internal specifications. Stroker configurations add displacement. Check each builder’s included parts and discuss the intended use with your engine builder. Not every platform offers every designation.
The S63 kits distinguish earlier Alusil and later coated-bore configurations. The matching components and machining choices depend on the block. Year labels help you navigate, but the actual block should be confirmed—particularly for transition-year cars and replacement engines.
The builder lists the base kit contents. OEM assembly parts, refresh kits, optional upgrades and services are additional selections. Your engine’s condition and retained components determine the complete parts-and-labor scope.
The full combination matters: engine specification, induction, fuel, calibration, supporting systems and intended use. A parts kit alone does not establish the finished engine’s output. Confirm the complete plan with your engine builder before choosing a power target.
